About

Ever since I can remember, I have had an everlasting love for animals, especially horses and ponies.  Growing up, I collected anything horse-related I could get my hands on; model horses, books, magazines, and Western apparel; I even had an imaginary friend who was always on horseback. Like any horsecrazy girl, I begged and begged my parents for riding lessons, promising I’d never fight with my older brother again. I was seven years old when I first started taking English lessons and I was absolutely hooked. I soon started spending as much time as possible at the barn, grooming horses and cleaning tack, I never wanted to go home. For the next couple of years, I rode any chance I got. One of my most memorable rides was when I was 14 in Southern France. My parents dropped me off on a ranch for a day’s worth of riding. The guide took me all along the beaches of Camarague where we saw a herd of wild horses grazing. I was even lucky enough to witness a flock of flamingos flying by overhead which was unreal.

In 8th grade, I started leasing a Quarter Horse named Pawnee. I rode him just about every day after school, he was my best friend. Over the years, we competed in several local Gymkhanas together and also travelled all over Colorado to go on overnight trail rides.  Soon I learned about Parelli Natural Horsemanship and quickly utilized those techniques with Pawnee. I was eventually able to ride him bridleless, by use of only a rope around his neck.

After High School, I was determined to find work with horses, working my way up from a stall mucker, to a Trainer’s Assistant, and finally a Barn Manager and Trainer.

There is nothing more that I want than to be around horses. To me, they are quite magical creatures, each with their own individual personality.
